Artist of the Written and Spoken Word, and 2-time Boston Music Award recipient (Rap/Hip Hop category) has deep roots in the art of performance.

For over 20 years Queen Lisa Lee moved crowds of many cultures and backgrounds with her colorful and insightful use of words and impactful cadences. To this day, MC Lisa Lee moves crowds with her gift of Spoken Word. 

Queen Lisa’s flexible style was nurtured by a diverse blend of early exposure to city life, a mixed blend of arts, cultures, and professional training. Her broad range of experiences empowers Queen Lisa to deliver her Poetic word with a unique, hybrid, ‘Urban, Revolutionary, yet Shakespearean-like’ flow.

Current projects include The Flow Show on WTCH, Touch 106.1 FM Radio, every Sunday 4-6PM…Spoken Word recordings with such titles as, ‘By The Light of The Ghetto Moon’…’ Imagine The Battles That Rage’…An ongoing anti-domestic violence informational drama, ‘Rising From The Ashes’, and a derivative in the form of a one-woman show.

 

 

Pioneering Female MC, Zulu Queen MC Lisa Lee at a performance during the early stages of the evolution of Hip Hop.  This performance was at the Adlai E. Stevenson H.S. in da Bronx, New York City.

Stevenson H.S. is also the location where many of the early Hip Hop parties were performed by pioneers like Afrika Bambaataa, Afrika Islam, DJ Jazzy Jay, Sha Rock, and many others (Jazzy Jay and Sha Rock are also among the others who accompanies Queen Lisa during the’81- Stevenson H.S., Bx.
